About Marta María Pérez Bravo

Marta María Pérez Bravo is a Cuban artist who is one of the most important exponents of contemporary Latin American photography. Her work has been exhibited in various cultural institutions, such as: Reina Sofía Art Museum in Madrid, Casa de las Américas in Havana, Alejandro Otero Museum in Caracas, TATE Liverpool in the United Kingdom, etc. She has held multiple individual as well as group exhibitions in galleries and museums around the world. Her work is part of important private and institutional collections.

The use of her body as a fundamental work tool constitutes the most direct way of representing human feelings such as fragility, fears and experiences, the precariousness of existence as well as others that are present in her work. She currently resides and works in Mexico.
