QUISQUEYA HENRÍQUEZ (Havana, Cuba, 1966)
She was a Cuban artist living in the Dominican Republic, her work includes techniques such as collage, installation, video and sound art.
She studied at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and at the Higher Institute of Arts of Havana from 1987 to 1992.
Take inspiration from the art and culture of the Dominican Republic and Cuba, and reflect on the links with global art in addition to involving the people who observe them in certain artistic pieces; An example of this is her performative work Caribbean seawater ice cream, where an ice cream made with seawater, buttermilk, rum, coconut oil, blue color and stabilizers was melted.
Her work is included in museums in Cuba, the Dominican Republic and the United States.
